Everton ‘willing to pay Lucas Perez clause’

Everton will pay the €20m clause in Lucas Perez’s Deportivo La Coruna contract to get the forward to the Premier League.

The Toffees are said by Sport to have communicated to the player’s camp that they will trigger his contract clause and that a deal signed with the Liverpool-based club will pay significantly more than the renewal offered by Depor.

Everton are offering a four-year deal at €2m-per-year, while the Galicians have put on the table a seven-year contract at €1m-per-year.

Ronald Koeman has given his blessing to the approach, Sport add, as has director of football Steve Walsh, as they look for a compliment to Romelu Lukaku.
