Zidane ‘tired of James questions’

Zinedine Zidane is ‘tired’ of having to give the same answer when asked about James Rodriguez’s future at Real Madrid.

Los Blancos were victorious in the pre-season Trofeo Bernabeu showpiece against Reims, winning 5-3, but Zizou admitted after the match that conceding three goals at home means there’s a flaw somewhere.

“It’s true that when you let in three at home, things have indeed not gone as you wanted but this is part of the preparation. We haven’t conceded a lot of goals in pre-season and the important thing to see everyone play, that they had minutes and we won the game. Now there are no friendlies. We have to focus on La Liga and be ready to play,” he said, AS reports.

“Reims are a second division team who want to go to the first and they have played well. They’ve scored three goals which may be due to our mistakes, but also their attack. I’m happy with how things have gone in any case.”

Zidane was also asked specifically about James Rodriguez, Marco Asensio and Mariano, with James reportedly told he can leave the club.

“James is here. I’m happy with his game and you will always ask the same and I will answer the same. I’m tired of answering but I’m always going to say the same. My answer won’t change,” he noted.

“Asensio? He knows what he’s going to have and all the players know. I’m not going to mislead anybody. I’ll try to put out the best squad for each game. I have a great squad, we need to have a great season and we’re ready.

“We’ll see about Mariano. He’s with us at the moment. Madrid haven’t presented him because he’s playing for Castilla, but he’s with us. There could be another change. We’ll see on August 31. At the moment he’s with us and he’s happy to be with us.”
