Marcos raring to go with Alaves

Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente says he cannot wait for the season to start after being loaned out to Alaves.

The 21-year-old has arrived in Vitoria on a season-long arrangement and hopes to get the playing time with his newly-promoted team that will see him prove he still has a place at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“I hope to improve, learn, work and give everything for this team and I can’t wait to get started,” insisted Llorente at his official presentation.

“I know that in the Primera you need to have a lot of character and personality and the Coach, Mauricio Pellegrino, has told me to play as I know how.

“I’m really happy at how I’ve been received here and I want to return that affection out on the pitch.

“I know [goalkeeper] Fernando Pacheco from Madrid and he told me of Alaves’ interest in me, whilst speaking well of Vitoria as a city and the Alaves fans.

“I’ve shared a dressing room with the Madrid players and training there means I’ve worked alongside the best players in the world.”

Llorente also revealed a clause in his loan agreement states he cannot face Real Madrid in any competition next season.
