Fajr: Depor now “united”

Deportivo la Coruna midfielder Faycal Fajr says the Galicians will be a better team this season as they are now more “united”.

Last year the Depor dressing room was the subject of numerous problems, most of which surfaced in the final week of the campaign, but Moroccan international Fajr believes all that is behind them as they prepare to face Eibar in their opening La Liga game next Friday.

“I’m sure that we are going to be better than last year in the sense that we are a more united team,” the 28-year-old told a Press conference.

“These players have not been together a long time, yet you can already feel it. Although it’s early and I don’t want to talk about what happened in the past, I’m sure we are going to be better.

“No player can be above any other and we must all perform together, work together, run together, and be a team from the goalkeeper to the last player.”

Fajr was on loan at Depor from Elche last term. However, his parent club failed to gain promotion from La Segunda and he says he is happy to have extended his stay at Riazor for at least another 12 months.

“Since the League ended until now I’ve always wanted to return to Depor. I never wanted to play for any other team,” he admitted.
