Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale will reportedly miss Tuesday’s European Super Cup against Sevilla after being seen as too much of an injury risk.
According to Marca, a conversation between Bale and Zinedine Zidane ended amicably as the Coach felt the match in Norway came too soon for the Welshman.
The newspaper explains that Madrid are facing a “long” season, with five trophies at stake, and Zidane is keen for his players to be as fresh as possible.
However, it is not yet known if Bale will travel to Trondheim to support his teammates during the Super Cup.
All eyes will now be on Karim Benzema, who is set to start the match without his fellow ‘BBC’ members after completing Saturday’s training session, despite not playing a single minute of Madrid’s preseason.
