Odegaard heading to Germany

Martin Odegaard is expected to leave Real Madrid on loan this summer and a move to the Bundesliga looks most likely.

AS notes that Odegaard’s father, Hans-Erik, is scheduled to discuss the player’s future with Los Blancos and the intention is to agree a loan deal away from Santiago Bernabeu.

No club is confirmed but Germany is felt to be most likely and Madrid have close ties to the Bundesliga, having allowed Borja Mayoral to go to Wolfsburg on loan.

Jesus Vallejo is also in Germany at Eintracht Frankfurt, and Omar Mascarell has signed a three-year contract at the same club after struggling to get into Madrid’s first team.

It’s felt that the Bundesliga clubs will be able to afford the high wages commanded by 17-year-old Odegaard, who is paid €1.2m a year.
