Munir El Haddadi says he will only leave Barcelona if the club tell him he’s not wanted, even though a ‘fourth forward’ is high on the agenda.
Luciano Vietto and Kevin Gameiro are the top candidates to go to Camp Nou and provide back-up to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar and the arrival of one of the club’s targets would push Munir down the pecking order, but he doesn’t want to move on.
“I’ll continue working. Whoever comes will be welcome because I’m sure they’ll come to contribute a lot. I talk about [his future] with the Coach. Whatever will be, will be,” Munir told reporters at Barca’s training camp in England, according to Marca.
“The search for a No 9 is why I don’t know what will happen. I’ll continue working to get minutes. It’s up to the club [if another forward is needed]. I don’t know why they’ve not signed one yet. If I was at another club, I’d accept Barca.
“I’ve felt valued here from the first day I was in the first team. I’m very happy. I think I’m improving, I’m learning. Of course I would like more minutes. I’ll do my best to get them. My challenge is to play more. I’m very happy here. I won’t leave if the club signs a forward, only if they ask me to.”
