Vietto having Barca doubts?

Barcelona remain keen to take Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid and Vietto is still interested, but a likely lack of minutes is a concern.

Both AS and Mundo Deportivo note La Blaugrana’s continued interest in the Argentine to bolster Luis Enrique’s attacking options, but AS in particular stresses Vietto’s desire to play regularly next season, after being squeezed out at Vicente Calderon.

Fernando Torres, Angel Correa and Antoine Griezmann were all ahead in the pecking order under Diego Simeone and would be so again, as well as the No 9 Atletico are searching for.

That makes Sevilla an option and Atletico would prefer Vietto went to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to avoid strengthening a direct rival in Barca, but the pull of Camp Nou and Lionel Messi remains strong.

Mundo Deportivo say Barca are calm over the situation and were prepared for the saga to be long-running, even though Sevilla and Jorge Sampaoli have made it known to Vietto that if he went to Nervion, he would be a regular, as he was at Villarreal before switching to Atleti.
