Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann admitted “losing a second final sucks” after France lost to Portugal in Sunday’s Euro 2016 decider.
Griezmann ended the tournament as its top goalscorer with six but failed to find the net at Stade de France as Eder’s strike after extra time for Portugal condemned France to a 1-0 defeat, marking another failure for the 25-year-old in light of Atleti’s Champions League loss to Real Madrid two months ago.
“Losing a second final [in two months]… it sucks,” he said after the game.
“Still, these defeats will make me stronger.”
