‘Spain haven’t achieved anything yet’

Vicente del Bosque preached caution after Spain’s 3-0 win over Turkey, despite reaching the Round of 16 of Euro 2016.

La Roja are through with a game to spare after two wins in two games, Alvaro Morata getting a double in the stroll past the Turks, and though Del Bosque was happy, he warned against complacency.

“We haven’t achieved anything. We have to continue with the same generosity, the same delivery,” the Coach said post-match, AS reports.

“We’ve managed to qualify for the next phase, which was our first objective. We played really well and this encourages us to move forward.

“Like I said, we played well, we defended with order, we had chances, we controlled the game at all times. Possibly the Turks in their eagerness to score left themselves unprotected at the back, while the Czechs sat back and defended with more men.

“Morata worked well and he sacrificed, sometimes even covering on the flank for Juanfran.”
