Nolito ‘calm’ over offers

Nolito insists he isn’t distracted by transfer talk and is instead ‘happy’ representing Spain at Euro 2016.

The Celta Vigo forward created Alvaro Morata’s opening goal against Turkey and then scored La Roja’s second himself, Morata later adding a third, but Celta’s President has confirmed Nolito is likely to move this summer amid interest from Manchester City and Barcelona.

“Offers? I’m calm, enjoying the national team and I’m happy. We have to be calm. We have a lot of goals but you can’t always score. Nobody scores every game. We have to concentrate and respect our rivals,” he said, Sport reports.

“Turkey went at us face-to-face, and that benefitted us. The Czech Republic were a wall. It’s hard to win at the Euros. We have to go step-by-step.”

Nolito also explained why he rushed to celebrate his goal with Iker Casillas, the captain benched for David De Gea.

“I get a lot of stick and I told him if I scored I was going to dedicate it to him. He’s been very good to me,” he acknowledged.

“It’s also dedicated to my family, who are always with me in the bad times, and my friends.”
