James injury ‘not serious’

James Rodriguez has reportedly avoided serious injury but remains a doubt for Colombia’s Copa America clash with Paraguay on Wednesday.

James was forced off in Colombia’s 2-0 victory over the United States on Friday as the Real Madrid midfielder landed awkwardly on his shoulder after a challenge with Michael Bradley.

However, Marca claims the first tests “have ruled out serious injury”, the 24-year-old being treated with anti-inflammatories and physical therapy in the meantime.

Despite the newspaper’s line, Colombia have yet to issue a medical report on fitness of their captain.
