Spain reveal Euro 2016 squad

Isco and Saul Niguez, as expected, have been omitted from Spain’s 23-man squad for Euro 2016 as Hector Bellerin replaces the injured Dani Carvajal.

Nineteen of the 23 men had been named earlier on Tuesday as they also travelled to Salzburg for the friendly against South Korea 24 hours later, with six spots to be filled by Real Madrid and Atletico players following the Champions League final last Sunday.

Isco and Saul were the players tipped to be cut by the Spanish Press, and the latter’s suspicions have been realised as Sergio Ramos, Juanfran, Lucas Vazquez and Koke have been selected to complete the travelling party.

Bellerin’s place in France has also been confirmed after Dani Carvajal’s thigh injury at the weekend final denied him of a first major tournament, the right-back having also missed the 2014 World Cup.

Spain squad for Euro 2016: Casillas, De Gea, Rico; Ramos, Pique, Alba, Bartra, San Jose, Juanfran, Bellerin, Azpilicueta; Busquets, Iniesta, Bruno, Pedro, Cesc, Koke, Thiago, Nolito, Silva, Vazquez; Aduriz, Morata.
