Everton pressing for Emery

Everton are pushing hard to take Unai Emery from Sevilla, reports say, with super-agent Jorge Mendes involved.

Seville publication Estadio Deportivo report heavy interest from the Toffees, who earlier in May sacked Roberto Martinez after three years at Goodison Park.

Emery is mentioned as a possible successor, ahead of Manuel Pellegrini, Ronald Koeman and Frank de Boer, and is said to have a release clause in the manner of Javi Gracia, who was recently bought out of his Malaga contract by Rubin Kazan.

Everton have already had one refusal from Emery, the report adds, but with Mendes assisting the club’s new major shareholder, billionaire Farhad Moshiri, a renewed approach is in the offing.
