Jordi Alba believes sections of the media are unhappy that Barcelona pipped both Madrid clubs to the 2015-16 Primera title.
Barca made it back-to-back championships under Luis Enrique and their sixth in eight seasons after a 3-0 victory over Granada on Saturday, but Alba’s enthusiasm about the triumph was watered down somewhat by his less-than-favourable assessment of the Spanish Press.
“I hope you [journalists] are happy, although I know that some of you aren’t,” the left-back said after the game.
“[Saturday] is a day to celebrate with the Barca fans who have been with us through the bad times.
“We suffered because we knew couldn’t fail. We deserved the League and we know how to appreciate it.
“We’ve won trophies almost every season and there’s a reason [why we have].
“[Luis Suarez] is the best striker in the world. In addition to his goals, he works for the team.”
