Victor Sanchez dedicated Deportivo La Coruna’s avoidance of relegation to the fans, but didn’t want to discuss his future.
It has been reported that Depor will dispense with Victor’s services this summer after a strong start to the season was followed by a horrendous end, the Galicians in danger of the drop until a 2-0 win at Villarreal on Sunday.
“I dedicate staying up to the fans, who have had a bad time,” he said post-match, AS reports.
“The first goal was important because it gave us peace of mind and from there we worked well. We were fortunate they didn’t score. Today we’ve had the luck and the success we’ve lacked in the past thanks to our defence, because today we showed great strength at the back.”
AS adds that Victor was asked about his future, but replied only that he is under contract and this isn’t the time to discuss these issues.
