Koke spoke of his disappointment as Atletico Madrid’s La Liga title challenge ended in defeat at already relegated Levante.
Atletico took a quick lead through Fernando Torres but were pegged back and then beaten by Giuseppe Rossi’s late goal, the reverse meaning they can only finish level on points with leaders Barcelona, who they trail head-to-head.
“It’s a shame how we lost. We started the first five minutes in devastating style but we dropped a gear. And when you do that, you can lose,” he admitted, AS reports.
“We slowed down with the goal and it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s a shame for all the work this year. [But] the fans believe in us and we will fight for the Champions League.”
