Rubi was unhappy with the refereeing as Levante lost to Malaga and had their top-flight relegation confirmed but ‘we’ve gone down with dignity.’
Les Granotes were beaten 3-1 at La Rosaleda but had a Jose Luis Morales goal disallowed by referee Inaki Bikandi with the game tied at 1-1.
“We’re sunk in misery. We played a good game, even with a bad start, but we settled and had chances, three for Giuseppe Rossi and a penalty the referee didn’t want to give,” Rubi noted, according to Super Deporte.
“We went crazy with the disallowed goal. The team didn’t recover from an unfair situation and we didn’t get any luck as that helped us go down to the Segunda.
“We’re very hurt, people are crying. It’s hard. They’ve been teammates until the last minute and have gone down with dignity.
“The only thing I can think [about the disallowed goal] is Rossi was offside, because the rest is science fiction.”
