Bale: Madrid will keep fighting

Gareth Bale has vowed that Real Madrid “will keep fighting” in their remaining two games for the La Liga title after Saturday’s 1-0 win at Real Sociedad.

Bale rescued Madrid for the second week running as his late header kept Los Blancos in the thick of the title race, Barcelona and Atletico having also won, and he made it clear his side would not concede defeat in the three-horse race without a fight.

“We know that if we win the League, we’ll have to win every game left,” the forward said after the game.

“They’re all finals. La Liga is still possible and we’ll keep fighting until the end of the season.

“[Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema] are two great forwards, but we have a great team and our good work achieved this good result.

“It’ll be a very difficult game [against Manchester City], but we’ll play that game with maximum intensity, as we did at Anoeta, and with the support of our fans, we hope to be in the Champions League final.”
