Krohn-Dehli out for eight months

Sevilla have confirmed that Michael Krohn-Dehli will be out for “seven to eight months” after successful surgery on his left knee.

Krohn-Dehli was stretchered off after his knee buckled in a clash with Facundo Ferreyra during Thursday’s 2-2 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League semi-finals, and the midfielder will now look to return in time for the start of next year.

A statement on the Andalucians’ official website reads: “The player Michael Krohn-Dehli has undergone surgery this afternoon by Dr Daniel Cansino, head of medical services of Sevilla, at Sacred Heart Clinic on his avulsion fracture in the lower part of his left patella [knee].

“His operation went without incident and the player was fine afterwards.

“As reported by medical services of the club, the player’s recovery time will be between seven or eight months, subject to evolution.”
