Zidane: Madrid will need the fans

Zinedine Zidane says ‘Real Madrid will need the fans’ in the Champions League semi-final second leg with Manchester City.

The first leg finished in a goalless draw and so the tie will be settled at Santiago Bernabeu, with Zizou speaking to Madrid’s in-house TV channel regarding the semi, Real Sociedad, and his first few months on the bench.

“I’m content. The work has been phenomenal. The team is on the right track. We’re happy with what we’re doing but at the same time we lack a lot,” he explained, AS reports.

“Only a few games, but we need a lot because we have a stake in every game. We’re concentrated on what we have to do, content. These four months have passed very quickly.

“La Real is another final. At this time they all are. But let’s prepare well, we’ve not had a lot of time but we know how it is. We have to play every three days and it will be difficult. They’re a tough team, a good team but we are prepared.

“City? We do what we know. There’s no choice but to win. It’s a draw and we have to score to win. In my head I have only La Real. After that it will be a day for the fans, who have always been very good with the players, and will continue to be, and more because we’re a step away from the final.

“We’ll need our fans, as usual. But I have no doubt it will be a spectacular night for the players. For sure, the fans will help a lot.”
