Rubi was “ashamed” of Levante’s performance in their 5-1 defeat to relegation rivals Granada in La Liga on Thursday.
Youssef El-Arabi’s hat-trick inspired Granada to a much-needed thrashing of Levante, who in turn fell to the bottom of the table and five points adrift of the Andalusians with only four games remaining, leaving Rubi to question his team’s mentality.
“The team weren’t up to scratch,” the Coach said after the game.
“I’m very disappointed, we had a disastrous first half.
“I have to admit that I feel ashamed. We couldn’t handle the situation and pressure, and we’ve blockaded ourselves.
“We’ve dropped three points at a very important moment, we were too easy to play against.
“Still, I don’t want to see us in La Segunda. I want to fight.”
