Barca stars in battle cry

Andres Iniesta and Javier Mascherano have issued battle cries to Barcelona fans ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid.

Barca squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Villarreal on March 20, before their 39-game unbeaten run was ended by a 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Clasico a fortnight later, followed by a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad over the weekend to leave their lead in La Liga stand at just three points.

However, they are 2-1 up on Atleti in the last eight of the Champions League from the first leg and Iniesta took to his official Facebook account to post a message of solidarity.

“No-one said it’d be easy. We want to repeat our feats [from last season] we will do together,” he wrote.

Iniesta’s sentiments were echoed by Mascherano, who tweeted “stronger than ever” to his 6.45m followers.
