It’s reported Fernando Torres’ recent form has led to Atletico Madrid deciding to keep hold of the striker past the end of the season.
Mundo Deportivo cites Onda Cero as saying Torres’ seven goals this season, five of them in his last 10 games including against Barcelona on Tuesday before he was sent off, has won over the Atleti decision-makers.
Torres is on loan at Vicente Calderon from Milan but the deal expires in the summer at the same time his contract at San Siro comes to an end.
Atletico were said to be waiting until the end of the season to make a decision but El Nino’s displays since Jackson Martinez was sold in February have swayed the club’s hierarchy.
