Masche: I’m not Suarez’s judge…

Javier Mascherano dismissed questions about Luis Suarez’s behaviour as Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. ‘I’m not a judge…’

Suarez scored both goals as Barca came from behind to beat 10-man Atleti, who had scorer Fernando Torres sent off, Mascherano accepting the clubs have different views on the matter.

“It’s every man for himself. They believe it wasn’t a red and we believe it was,” he said, AS reports, Suarez appearing to kick Juanfran.

“We focus on the game. We created 18 chances and deserved the victory. Suarez’s aggression? I’m a football player, not a judge.

“There were two games, but not before and after the red card, but the first and second halves. That had heart and ambition, one of our best second halves this year.

“That’s the reflection in which we have to look at ourselves.

“They had two chances and we had did too. This is football. Their goal created doubts. Then we re-took control and we stayed in their area.

“We played against 10 in the League as well and it wasn’t the same game. The ambition is one of the improvements.”
