Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that Real Madrid are not seeking Clasico revenge against Barcelona on Saturday for their capitulation in November.
Madrid were demolished 4-0 by Barca at the Santiago Bernabeu to all-but-condemn Rafa Benitez to a premature dismissal, but Zidane is adamant the rematch in Catalonia is “just another game” as he had not mentioned the defeat to his players.
“We’re here to win every game,” the Coach said at a Press conference.
“We’ve prepared well for the game. We’ve missed a few lads, but it’s normal.
“There are three points at stake and we’ll do everything possible to win.
“[On looking for a Madrid ‘style’], no because we’re in a good dynamic and we’re following it.
“As I said before, it’s a different game to the others, but ultimately it’s just another.
“What the fans want to see is a good match and I see my team playing as they have recently. We’ll be lucky to do so again.
“[On revenge for the 0-4], I haven’t spoken about it. The players know exactly what happened, but now it’s another game. Every game is different, and this is a game we want to win.
“[The keys to winning are] doing what we’ve been working lately. We’re in good form and we must take advantage of it. There’s lots of personality in this team and the lads have prepared well in every way.
“[On his future], you know how it works here. Only winning counts, and I know this because I’ve been a player here and I know the demands of the office.
“I’m not thinking about what we can win, the most important thing is to keep working well and we’ll see at the end of the season. Something positive can happen.
“I’ll sleep peacefully. It’s a game of football and we have to enjoy it by measuring ourselves against other good players. I’m going to enjoy my first morning as a Clasico Coach.
“[On the 0-4 again], I saw it because I analyse our games, but I haven’t talked about that game with the players.
“[On Madrid’s style of play], what I can say is that we’ll play our game and put all our concentration into it.
“It won’t be easy, but we have an idea of how to play and we’ll try to do the same as we have and come out strong.”
