Koke: Euros a shot at redemption

Koke believes Euro 2016 “presents a shot at redemption” for Spain after their dismal World Cup campaign in Brazil two years ago.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder is expected to be one of 10 changes made by Vicente del Bosque for Sunday’s friendly against Romania, and he is confident La Roja’s “great generational shift” will pay dividends this summer.

“Wearing the shirt of the national team is always beautiful and special, and it’ll be a hotly-disputed match against Romania,” he said at a Press conference.

“We have to give everything to the national team. The Euros are very close and we’re very excited.

“I feel comfortable in any position that I’m put, and playing where the Coach needs me excites me.

“We didn’t have a good World Cup, but the Euros present a shot at redemption. There’s been a great generational shift.”
