Koke ‘annoyed’ with draw

Koke could not hide his “feeling of annoyance” after Spain failed to find the breakthrough against Romania on Sunday.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder was one of 10 changes made for the trip to Cluj but was unable to inspire La Roja to victory, and he spoke of his frustration after the game, although he stressed his country would be much-improved at Euro 2016.

“We tried to keep the ball,” he told Cuatro.

“We had it in the first half, but they countered us quickly when they took it off us.

“They have quick players in attack and made it difficult for us.

“The feeling with which we leave [Romania] is one of annoyance because we didn’t win, but we’ll be better at the tournament. We’re a good team and we'll be very assured.”
