Aritz Aduriz enjoyed his return to the Spain fold after he scored in La Roja’s 1-1 draw with Italy.
The Athletic Bilbao striker was making his first senior international start, six years after his only previous appearance and equalised Lorenzo Insigne in the second half.
“I’m very happy to participate in the national team, with these great players. It’s just a pity we couldn’t win,” Aduriz told Cuatro after the match, AS reports.
“It wasn’t an easy game. They know very well what they have to do. It was difficult to create chances.
“It’s easy to get along with these players. They are very good and they make things much easier.
“We were better in the second half. We didn’t press well in the first and they got forward with ease. We were closer in the second. The draw is good.”
