Bumper new deal for Bale?

Gareth Bale is in line for a new Real Madrid contract that will tie him to the club until 2021, reports claim.

AS cites the Daily Telegraph as saying Los Blancos want to make the Wales international the club’s second-highest paid player, almost level with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bale currently earns €9m-a-year with Cristiano on just over €20m, but Bale’s new deal would take him past Sergio Ramos’ €10m and on the brink of the Portuguese.

Talks over the renewal aren’t yet under way but AS believes they will soon start, and the deal will be completed early in the 2016-17 season.
