Granada have confirmed Jose Ramon Sandoval is no longer on the bench, replaced until the end of the season by Jose Gonzalez.
Sandoval’s sacking was rumoured through Monday and confirmed late that night, Gonzalez, formerly of Cadiz, Albacete, Cordoba and Real Murcia taking his place.
Gonzalez has also worked with Gregorio Manzano at China’s Beijing Gouan and takes over with the team bottom of La Liga after the weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Valencia.
Granada, in confirming Sandoval’s exit, thanked the trainer for steering the team to safety after his appointment last season, but cited recent results as the impulse to make another change.
