Lucas frustrated by Depor draws

Lucas Perez has been left angered by Deportivo La Coruna’s club-record run of five straight draws.

The Galicians haven’t been able to take three points from games against Real Sociedad, Valencia, Rayo Vallecano, Sporting Gijon and Real Betis, and top scorer Lucas is dismayed by the dropped points.

“I hate being so close to victory and not getting it,” he said, AS reports.

“I don’t know of a team today that goes out to draw, to get as many draws as Depor, but each match we’ve drawn we’ve gone out to win.

“We have to be calm because the win will come if we continue on this line.”

Deportivo’s next attempt to take three points will be against struggling Espanyol, but Lucas warned against assuming anything against the out-of-form Periquitos.

“The situation there isn’t good because they’ve lost several games, by a lot of goals, but they’re a very dangerous team,” he argued.

“They go out to take a bite from you and they want to win a lot, so that makes it more difficult.”
