Javier Tebas didn’t see Lionel Messi’s penalty as disrespectful and repeats: ‘I would like the Copa del Rey Final at Santiago Bernabeu.’
There is dispute as to where the game between Barcelona and Sevilla should be held, with Real Madrid’s home a favoured option but difficult to arrange due to the Catalans’ involvement.
“As I’ve said, of course I would like the Final of the Copa del Rey to be played at the Bernabeu,” LFP President Tebas told Cadena COPE, Marca reports, though that’s no longer possible due to a Bruce Springsteen concern at the Bernabeu on the same day.
Tebas was also asked about the penalty pass by Lionel Messi that saw Luis Suarez score against Celta Vigo.
“Messi’s penalty didn’t appear disrespectful to me,” he said, amid some controversy over the assist.
“Doing something different is not a lack of respect.”
