New York City ‘trying for Casillas’

New York City are reportedly trying to talk Porto in letting go of Spain captain Iker Casillas this summer, a year before his contract ends.

AS cites ESPN as claiming the MLS club, who have David Villa, Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard on their books already, hope to get the former Real Madrid goalkeeper too.

Casillas moved to Porto last season after his time at Santiago Bernabeu ended but it was speculated in January that Porto could agree to release him early, with his contract supposed to run to 2017.
