Guangzhou Evergrande Coach Felipe Scolari has welcomed the arrival of Jackson Martinez from Atletico Madrid.
Jackson late on Tuesday completed a move from Vicente Calderon to China, worth a reported €42m, after only half-a-season in La Liga.
“[Martinez is] an ideal player to integrate into my system, to provide balance between attack and defence,” Marca quotes Scolari as saying.
“He will be decisive for us to defend the double crown of the Chinese Super League and the AFC Champions League.”
Jackson joins Brazilians Paulinho, Alan and Ricardo Goulart as Guangzhou’s four foreign players, Marca adding he was the club’s first choice after selling Elkeson to Shanghai SIPG.
