Gary Neville hailed his Valencia players for “giving everything” during Thursday’s 1-0 win at Las Palmas in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.
Rodrigo Moreno’s early goal fired Los Che into the last four, where they will face one of Celta Vigo, Sevilla and Barcelona, and the Coach was delighted with the manner his side held firm at Gran Canaria.
“I’m delighted and especially pleased for the fans,” he said after the game.
“They deserve this because they’ve been patient with the team and me in these six weeks.
“[Las Palmas] only had a headed chance at the end and some set-pieces.
“We’re not an easy team to beat, and the players returned to give everything.
“I’m sure the fans will be in good voice on Sunday and that there’ll be a great atmosphere at Mestalla.
“I’m more focused on Sporting Gijon [than who we get in Friday’s draw].”
