Neville: Result all that matters

Gary Neville is less concerned with Valencia’s performance in the Copa del Rey second leg against Las Palmas, saying ‘all that matters is the result.’

Los Che go to Gran Canaria after a 1-1 draw in the quarter-final first leg, Las Palmas’ away goal giving them the advantage and leading the Coach to stress the importance of the outcome over the display.

“We have to go to win, score goals, in a positive mind-set. We’d have preferred to go with an advantage, but we go knowing exactly what we have to do,” Neville said, AS reports.

“We have to win however, yes. It’s alright no matter how you win, that’s how I’ve always understood football. We have to find a way to win each time. All that matters is the result. It’s not about maximum performance. What counts is the result.

“I would say it is the most important game of the season. But the most important game is always the one that’s next.

“We have to prepare for penalties, of course. The players here practice penalties. They do almost every week. It’s logical.”
