Former Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon predicts a ‘long future’ for ‘exceptional and awesome’ Gareth Bale at Santiago Bernabeu.
Bale moved to Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013 and though Calderon acknowledges some fitness issues, he fully expects the Wales international to come through them.
“He’s an exceptional and awesome player who has a long future here at Real Madrid,” Calderon said.
“The injuries he’s had are not good and he’s come in for some punishment, but he’s growing.
“I think Real Madrid made a great decision to get him and if he plays like he is right now he’ll be very important for the club.”
