Eduardo Berizzo has told his Celta Vigo players “to strike a blow on the table” when they host Levante in La Liga on Saturday.
The Galicians are in the midst of a slump, having lost their last three games, but remain fifth in the standings and can move four points clear with victory over the basement boys and if other results go their way.
“[On being drawn against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey], it’ll be a tough and difficult tie for both teams,” the Coach said at a Press conference.
“It’s an important tie against a major rival. Both legs will be intense, but we’re facing them in the hope of getting through and with the same enthusiasm as always.
“It’s always better to end a tie at home, but it depends on what we do in the first leg.
“More than ending our run of three defeats, the game is important to strike a blow on the table.
“We’re at a point in the season, where it’d be good to take a step forward and rediscover our best football.
“There’s no point winning by chance if we want to recover our identity. Hopefully we play with imagination and speed in attack.”
“Levante are a team who have changed their style since changing Coach and have dangerous players in attack, especially on the wings.
“It’s crucial that we don’t commit errors when moving the ball.”
