Victor Sanchez had no issue with Mirandes’ stunning Copa del Rey win over Deportivo La Coruna, describing the Segunda side as ‘totally superior.’
Mirandes took a 3-0 victory at Riazor to progress to the next round of the competition after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Victor telling reporters that the outcome was fair.
“We’re all disappointed. This is a team through thick and thin and I won’t target anyone,” Marca reports Victor saying as he stressed the need to avoid scapegoats.
“I warned that Mirandes compete well at home and away. They eliminated Malaga, and we were prepared, but there is nothing to say except congratulations to Mirandes because they were totally superior to us.
“We’ll try to learn from this kind of game. It’s surprising that a team from the Primera is knocked out by a team from the Segunda, but it isn’t new.”
