Victor focused on Copa

Deportivo La Coruna Coach Victor Sanchez warns Mirandes will be tough Copa del Rey opponents, and is focused there and not on Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane was this week named as Rafa Benitez’s successor on the Blancos’ bench and his first game in charge will be against Deportivo.

“I understand that’s news, but our head is in Mirandes. The time to think about [Madrid] is Thursday. Right now, only the Cup,” he said, Marca reports.

“We need maximum attention. We have to be thoroughly prepared [for] a difficult tie, against an opponent who is proving to be very competitive in the Segunda.

“The tie is 180 minutes, although it is important to get the best possible result in the first leg for the return, no doubt.”
