Galca ‘not satisfied’ despite win

Constantin Galca confessed he was “not satisfied” with Espanyol’s 1-0 victory over Las Palmas in La Liga on Saturday.

Felipe Caicedo ensured the Romanian preserved his 100 percent record after two matches at the helm, but he felt his side had regressed somewhat from their Copa del Rey win against Levante earlier in the week.

“I’m not satisfied with our performance, but I am so with our dedication and work-rate,” he said after the game.

“It was a very important victory, one which makes us a little calmer now.

“We recovered more balls and had more shots on goal against Levante. It wasn’t the case [on Saturday].

“Still, we were very well organised at the back. It’s important not to concede because it strengthens the team.

“[Salva Sevilla] did very well in the game and gave us clarity.

“[Our dip towards the end of the game] was down to nerves, but I’m responsible for our performances.”
