Eduardo Berizzo hailed Celta Vigo’s 2-0 win at Granada in La Liga on Sunday as “a display of authority, maturity and poise”.
First-half goals from Fabian Orellana and Iago Aspas ensured the Galicians remained fourth over Christmas, and the Coach could only douse his team with praise after the game.
“We had absences but still found solutions and played as we should, managing the game in spells and being very sincere and solid in our approach,” he said.
“We also proved that we could play games on a difficult pitch.
“[Orellana in the hole] allowed us to create combinations to score and open the game up.
“It was a complete performance, with great effort, attitude and intensity from everyone.
“It was a display of authority, maturity and poise.
“The youngsters, such as [Josep] Sene, also showed why they were in the team.
“[Our rise to fourth] has stemmed from the effort of the players.
“We’re a proper team, very solid and aware that the collective is always more important than the individual.”
