Rubi believes there is reason to be ‘proud’ of the Levante players after they came close to beating Espanyol.
Jefferson Lerma put Les Granotes in front at Cornalla-El Prat after capitalising on a defensive error, only for Gerard Moreno to equalise in the second half, but Rubi wasn’t disappointed to see the lead given up.
“We could have taken three points. Whenever we can put together unbeaten games and tie the bonds with victories, it’s good for teams that are down there, since we can’t add in threes,” the trainer said, Super Deporte reports.
“It’s not easy but we have to be proud of our players because we’re getting closer each time.
“We will suffer because we don’t exactly overwhelm [the opposition], though the team is very confident in what we are doing.
“We’re trying to grow and give the players everything and I’m convinced we will succeed. I am 100% optimistic, but every game is a different story and can go from optimism to pessimism.”
