Victor hails ‘sensational’ Depor

Victor Sanchez praised his Deportivo La Coruna players for a “sensational” performance in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Las Palmas.

David Simon’s own goal and an injury-time effort from Lucas Perez made it back-to-back victories for the Galicians, who catapulted themselves into fifth in La Liga as a result, yet the Coach felt his side should have won “by a much bigger margin”.

“We could’ve won by a much bigger margin,” he said after the game.

“My players gave more than 100 percent and did a sensational job on the pitch.

“We were very organised, both in defence and attack.

“We stole a lot of balls near the box and turned them into chances.

“You still have to defend in many areas of the pitch for 90 minutes, attacking and counterattacking aside.

“We could’ve been a little more efficient [in front of goal], but we saved ourselves for our upcoming fixtures.”
