Al-Thani denies Malaga rumours

Malaga Vice-President Nasser Al-Thanidenied rumours of a rift between his family and the management at La Rosaleda over sporting director Mario Husillos.

It was reported that Sheikh Al-Thani had, in an effort to improve the fortunes of the club, ordered the removal of Husillos, but Vicente Casadao, the club’s director general, hadn’t carried out the instruction, leading to what was called an ‘institutional crisis.’

“If there is any change in the near future it will be to improve and raise the level of Malaga to the top,” Nasser Al-Thani wrote on Twitter, AS reports.

“Everything that appeared in the media regarding management changes is nothing more than rumours.”

AS however stand by the story, saying it was confirmed to them that Sheikh Al-Thani wanted Husillos removed from his post and Casado and other figures disagreed and refused to proceed.

It’s pointed out that Nasser Al-Thani first confirmed the intention to make changes to the club’s hierarchy before he dismissed the speculation.
