Napoli are interested in signing Valencia captain Dani Parejo, reports say, but aren’t thought to have come up with an acceptable offer.
Super Deporte cites claims from Italy’s Corriere dello Sport that link Napoli to Parejo, who has a release clause of €50m, and the €20m so far mooted wouldn’t be enough to tempt Los Che.
It’s noted that Parejo, as well as being the club captain, is a crucial part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, and Parejo is under a long-term contract at Mestalla.
Napoli are said to see Parejo as an alternative to current midfield lynchpin Marek Hamsik.
