Belgium Coach Marc Wilmots supports the decision to call off the scheduled friendly against Spain amid security concerns.
The game, to be played in Brussels on Tuesday evening, when cancelled late on Monday after Belgium raised its terror threat level in the aftermath of Friday’s terror attacks in Paris and reported links to the attacks involving Belgian nationals.
“I was told at 11.30pm [on Monday] that the game wouldn’t be played, and this morning we informed everyone,” Wilmots said, AS reports.
“Thousands of games are played, so nothing happens if there’s one more or one less. A human life is worth more than a game of football.”
