Real Madrid President Florentino Perez was reportedly impressed by the display of Sevilla winger Yevhen Konoplyanka in the recent fixture between the teams.
Estadio Deportivo reports that Kono’s performance in the 3-2 Sevilla win has led Perez to consider the Ukraine international as a potential Madrid target in the near future.
Perez is said to have asked about the release clause in Konoplyanka’s Sevilla deal, which stands at €35m.
The player is nevertheless a long-term admirer of Barcelona and it’s believed he would prefer to stay a few years at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and continue his adaptation to Spanish football before seeking pastures new.
Sevilla and Barca regularly do business, from Dani Alves in 2008 to Aleix Vidal in 2015, and that was part of the reason Konoplyanka turned down Atletico Madrid for Sevilla even though he was at one point at Vicente Calderon.
