Cesc reveals Ancelotti ‘attraction’

Chelsea and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he found Carlo Ancelotti’ Real Madrid side “attractive” to watch.

The Italian has been tipped to replace Jose Mourinho following the Blues’ abysmal start to their Premier League title defence, and the former Barcelona star made no secret of his admiration for the Coach’s philosophy.

“[On Cristiano Ronaldo], you can never say a player like him is finished,” he told Cadena COPE.

“He may not have had his best month, but I’m sure that by the end of the season he’ll have his usual numbers.

“[On Barca’s Halloween stunt], it might not have happened in [Carles] Puyol and Xavi [Hernandez’s] time, but [those responsible] are young and I can understand it, although it wasn’t the right place to do it when a Getafe player was holding a Press conference.

“I know them and I know they weren’t guilty of any misconduct.

“In 100 matches for Spain, I’ve experienced so many good times that it’s impossible to remember something bad.

“We touched the sky in the 2010 World Cup final. The final whistle of that game was the most brutal that I’d ever felt in my life.

“The tournament I most enjoyed playing was Euro 2008.

“I’ve felt important under both Luis Aragones and [Vicente] del Bosque, although perhaps I felt it more often Luis.

“[On Lionel Messi featuring in the Clasico], he’s recovering well but I don’t know if he’ll play in the Clasico. I hope he does.

“[On Real Madrid’s defeat to Sevilla], I really liked Madrid’s first 35 minutes, but in the second half they pulled back and Sevilla drew breath.

“[On fitting in at Madrid], I don’t know, although I do identify myself a lot with [Toni] Kroos, James [Rodriguez] and [Luka] Modric.

“[On Pep Guardiola], I have no doubt that Guardiola will test himself in the Premier League.

“[On Carlo Ancelotti], as a football fan, I was attracted to Ancelotti’s Madrid.

“Still, we have faith in [Jose Mourinho] and he has faith in us to turn our season around.”
